Cousineau c. Percopo Collette, 2025 QCCS 4190

The Quebec Superior Court awarded the male plaintiff $7,500 moral damages and $1,000 punitive damages over defamatory statements by the female defendant, following the break-up of their 10-year relationship, which were made in an online video seen by approximately 700 people.  The Court held that only a small number of viewers would have known the plaintiff was the target of the allegations as he was not named.
