Gasparetto v. Bradly Jr, 2025 NSSC 167

The Supreme Court of Nova Scotia awarded the applicant $110,000 damages pursuant to the Intimate Images and Cyber-protection Act, SNS 2017, c. 7 over the respondent’s “humiliating, degrading and threatening allegations”. “The conduct was repeated and widespread. It began on the respondent’s personal [YouTube] account which has 52,100 subscribers and 7.3 million views at the time of the application. … Three [other] accounts (one YouTube and two Twitter) were created and dedicated solely to the purpose of cyber-bullying the applicant.” The damage award consisted of $50,000 general damages; $25,000 aggravated damages; and $35,000 punitive damages.
